About the event

Nashville Psychedelic Society is hosting Plant Medicine Weavings. This will be a panel discussion from the heart about the love and lore of our precious friends, psilocybin mushrooms. The panel will feature five enthusiasts from various backgrounds with insights into the history, science, cultivation, and ritual and ceremonial use of these powerful teachers. There is limited chair seating (20 people). If you are nimble, please bring a cushion and make space on the floor. There will be herbal elixirs for purchase from the Flower Key and liquid cultures for sale. The five panelists include: Dusty Rose Miller, Ph.D., assistant research professor at Vanderbilt University researching the chemical composition of psychedelic mushrooms.Brian Thurow, facilitator and wisdom keeper of the sacred plant medicines, expert gardener, and musical maestro sharing about prehistoric cave art and historical use of mushrooms by different cultures. Shammah Hopewell, an adept cultivator with will discuss cultivation and traditional use of mushrooms. Maya Night (she/her), an identity doula and embodiment educator will be discussing intention setting pre-experience practices to help support our journeys. Ron McNutt, an attorney and volunteer in the psychedelic space will help moderate and discuss contemporary research and the legal context for ceremonial and adult use of psilocybin initiatives.Just before the discussion, there is an opportunity to participate in a Dance offering from 11:00 to 1:00pm. There is no expectation to attend both events. This dance is a dynamic experience of life energy and aliveness. If you would like to learn more about the dance, please see the Dance offering here on the Flower Key.

6. Price: Donations appreciated and your support really matters. Your donations help support access to the beautiful space we will be gathering and the panelists to deepen their practice. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Chacruna, promoting reciprocity in the psychedelic community, and support the protection of sacred plants and cultural traditions. Chacruna advances psychedelic justice through curating critical conversations and uplifting the voices of women, queer people, Indigenous peoples, people of color, and the Global South in the field of psychedelic science.
